Lord’s Supper served this Sunday
We will be sharing The Lord’s Supper this Sunday.    Anyone who seeks to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior is welcome to receive the Lord’s Supper.  Remember it is also “Food Pantry Sunday” — bring a donation for the Food Pantry. Cash donations are always appreciated – make checks payable to the food pantry – WACFP.


Children’s Activity Time during worship

Children’s Activity Time will be available for all children ages 4 through 3rd Grade in Room 111.  Please come join us!

Infant Nursery and Mother’s nursing room are available in room 100.

A Search Team has been formed to assist in finding our next lead pastor.  The following individuals are on the team:  Dennis Schmitt (chair), Gina Higbee, Dave Kroeger, Chuck Huygens, Kevin Roose, Linda Tigges, and Brent Vander Waal.  We are grateful to these Westview partners for serving in this capacity!

Search Team Update

In an effort to keep the Westview family informed of the search team’s progress, periodically we will be posting an update. As a reminder, the committee consists of Dennis Schmitt (chairman), Brent VanderWaal, Kevin Roose, Linda Tigges, Gina Higbee, Chuck Huygens and David Kroeger.  We are meeting on a weekly basis and, in conjunction with the elder board, have worked diligently preparing detailed candidate screening materials.  After tweaking here and there and then tweaking again, and then again, this is near completion and should soon be available for Westview attendees to view.  The team’s assignment for this week is to begin developing interview questions to ask the candidates.  As each week passes, I am more and more in awe of this huge responsibility and as a team, we ask for intentional and purposeful prayer for our work as we begin to review candidates who are interested in leading Westview.  Please pray for wisdom and discernment for this team, that we will always have God right by our side with every step of this process and that we continually seek His guidance. Since we meet on Monday at 7 p.m., we ask specifically for prayer during that time.  Pray for the people we will be considering.  Please pray that right at this moment God is building the person up and preparing his/her heart to be the one He has called to Westview.  Please contact any one of us if you have any questions.

Ahoy, mateys!!  The High Seas will be rolling into Westview Church on Sunday, June 13, so plan to join us for some VBS fun!!!  Please mark these dates and times on your calendars: June 13-17 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.  VBS is open to children ages 4 through 5th grade.  Registration will occur in April either on our website or via paper copies available on the Welcome Center.  We will need lots of rotational Crew Leaders again this summer, so please contact Tyra at  to volunteer!  Come experience the deep rolling waters of God’s love in June! Westview Church Open House and Westview Church Preschool 10 Year Anniversary Celebration, March 7

Please join us at the Open House March 7th from 2-4pm.  Tour the church, new youth room, Pantry, Clinic and listen to great worship music all while enjoying some cake!  Everyone is invited!

The Elder Board will be having its next quarterly update on March 7 between worship services at 10 AM.  We will meet in the worship space to discuss the transition of Sr. Pastoral leadership, our finances, and other items of interest.  There will be time for questions and answers.  Please plan to attend!

Reformed Church World Service has responded with an initial contribution of $10,000 to earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.

How You Can Help

Pray for the people of Haiti, especially for those who are injured, homeless, or have lost loved ones. Pray also for the hundreds of rescue workers and disaster recovery personnel.

Donate to provide water, blankets, temporary shelter, and food to the tens of thousands who are homeless. Send contributions, designated “Haiti Earthquake,” to Reformed Church in America, P.O. Assemble hygiene kits and baby kits and ship them to Church World Service. Detailed information on creating and shipping of kits is available at www.churchworldservice.org.

“The people of Haiti have urgent needs rights now,” says David Dethmers, coordinator of Reformed Church World Service, “basic needs of water, food, and shelter. We make this contribution on behalf of the members and friends of the Reformed Church in America, confident that in the longer term we will be able to do much more.”

The initial support will be directed through the RCA’s partner, Church World Service (CWS), which has staff permanently placed in Haiti and the Dominican Republic and therefore is able to mobilize quickly. In the early days of the response, CWS will be providing blankets, water, and hygiene and baby kits.

In a conference call with CWS communions on Wednesday afternoon, Donna Derr, director of emergency response programs for CWS, highlighted the urgency of the need for donations to address the crisis in Haiti.

“We are emptying our warehouse in Maryland,” she emphasized. “We’re intending to ship over 25,000 hygiene kits and several thousand baby kits. That’s almost everything we’ve got. There’s a desperate need to replenish our supplies. I urge churches and individuals who are seeking a way to help to put these kits together and ship them to us as soon as possible.”

RCWS Partners with Christian Reformed World Relief Committee

On Friday, David Dethmers will travel to Haiti with a delegation from CRWRC, the relief and development arm of the Christian Reformed Church. “It’s a sign of the growing relationship between our two communions,” Dethmers says. “Within hours of hearing about the disaster, we were in communication with each other. Very quickly it became clear that it made sense to travel and work together.”

In Haiti, Dethmers will meet with a wide variety of local partners of both Church World Service and CRWRC. He is also hoping to meet with the RCA’s new partner in the Dominican Republic, the newly emerging Reformed Church in the Dominican Republic. The recovery in Haiti will be a long one. “The goal of the trip,” he says, “in addition to encouraging and supporting RCA partners in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, is to listen to local partners, developing a mid- and long-range strategy that will support the Haitians as they plan and implement their own recovery and plan
