Community Game Night at Westview
|
|
|
(2nd Annual) Community Game Festival in May
What: This year we will once again be doing a micro-convention in May. We will start on Friday night (5/9) and continue on Saturday (5/10). We will also once again be offering prizes. There will be an overall champion ("Ironman") and this year there will also be a Puffing Billy (train games) champion. Check back later for more details.
Also in May we will be trading games (via a computer run Math Trade--trust me, you will want to participate).
Come join us for a weekend of gaming. There will be tons of games (both board games and card games) such as Settlers of Catan, Caylus, Ticket to Ride, Santiago, Risk, 1861, Pokemon, Taboo, Outburst, Bridge, Spades, and others as well as tons of fun. Feel free to bring your favorite game or just join others. Feel free to invite your neighbor as new players are definitely welcome. Open to everyone but childcare will NOT be provided (young gamers are welcome to participate with their parents).
When: Typically we meet the 2nd Saturday of the month (5:00 p.m. - ??:??) ; however, in May we will start on Friday 5/9 at 5:00 and continue on Saturday morning at 9:00.

Cost: FREE $0.00, but you are required to bring a food item to donate to the Waukee Area Christian Food Pantry (www.waukeecares.org) to participate this month.

OK. We are going to continue the annual game giveaway in 2008.
Each month that you join us and sign in (with a legible email address), you will receive a "virtual ticket". At the end of the year, we will draw a virtual ticket out of the "virtual hat" and the winner will get a free game (NOT a virtual game but a real game).
Bonus opportunity: For each guest that you bring that has never been previously, you will get an extra virtual ticket. And for the first-timers, you will get not only a virtual ticket the first month that you join us but also one bonus virtual ticket for being a first time guest.
